I mean that's what the whole sovereignty issue is about, who deserves to lord over us lowly humans? So while billions of people have died over the course of human history those words from James don't apply to God. Billions more will suffer all in the name of good sport, who really is better- we don't matter, I doubt we ever did.

so... i am gaining more experience reverse-witnessing, and i had the greatest of ideas!!
i don't have to say anything against the watchtower, there's sufficient flip-flops in the wt to make one cringe!!
so what i did was, opened a fb, went to a jw forum, added as many jw's as i could, and opened up a fb page that just posts quotes from the very first watchtowers.

it amazed me how incredibly credulous i was as a witness- i would never have watched a video so full of "lies" had i still been in.. or maybe i'm willing to believe anything now..... for those that have seen it- how convinced were you with the comparisons between jesus and the zodiac?.

Julia, tell her how much you love her as your friend and how important she is to you and let the rest be. Giving her all the facts and details will serve only to push her away and she won't listen anyways.
This would definitely be a time to just let it be and move on to the next thing, no sense wasting time with someone who already knows all the answers(the org is imperfect yet ALWAYS right).

tonight on the service meeting we discussed why jws are not false prophets.
of the ten minute part two were spent discussing that jws just had wrong expectations and only very minor changes over the years although nothing specific was mentioned.
the other eight focused on the core bible truths that have remained the same over the years.
Decades of human potential wasted isn't a big deal, those are the effects of "minor" changes.
